The Superflex Unthinkables attempt to provide teachers and families with a fun, motivating, and non-threatening way for the children to explore social thinking while increasing their knowledge of social expectations. Each of the Unthinkables has a fun name that children can easily use to identify common behaviors that cause them to have social difficulties. The names of the Unthinkables are used to label behaviors NOT children. These characters try to invade the way people behave and we teach many strategies to defeat these 'villains' . We expand on M. Winner's Social Thinking Curriculum by adding more concrete and creative lessons . The children require some repetition and weekly pratice to generalize across environments. We provide 2 hours a week of direct services with a SLP and ABA specialist. I teach the direct lessons and the aides and ABA teacher work together teaching basic SEL skills during board games. The SLP supports the weekly topic & adds more depth to the 2 hour push in service. See more about our integrated program curriculum here and lessons here. |
