Our wonderful secretary came in and delivered a mysterious package to me unexpectantly ( for the kids ;-). I stopped the class after she left abruptly and had them write down all they could recall happening, what they saw, heard etc. I then listed many of their responses. We talked about how important it was to observe closely and use all of our senses to notice what is happening around us. I explained to them how eye witness accounts are not always accurate. They loved it and we will be having surprise visitors again during the unit. | I began reading an A to Z Mystery titled Detective Camp. The children took notes as I read and we filled out our GO chart together. The student or students that solve the crime before the book does will win a detective prize. |
