This week we began our new Reader's theatre , How I Became a Pirate. The book was read aloud to the class on two different days. They completed a variety of activities from sequencing, retelling, answering comprehension questions and drawing and writing about their favorite part. The shark eating the soccer ball was pretty much the unanimous opinion here. We then began reading our assigned parts as a group to work on listening, following along with text, fluency, fun and reading skills. We will be beginning our next writing project about how they could become a pirate using the Writer's Workshop model. Stayed tuned for more Arrrrghs. |
