We are moving into our next writing unit. We have been studying what the story elements are for a good story. We have been noticing and listing character traits and learning how descriptive words make a story more interesting. Today we begin to pull it all together with a Silly Spooky Story. This pre writing activity, has the children rolling a dice to determine character and 1 trait, setting and conflict they must solve. As they rolled their dice they completed a G.O. chart. There were many giggles and excitement as they began rolling their story and trying to figure out how they were going to solve their problems. A few characters rolled were: A shy ghost, a nervous robot, a grumpy witch, a sleepy black cat, a scared zombie. Settings could be at a gigantic toy store, spooky hayride Pumpkin patch etc. This will be a process writing task and will go through many revisions before publishing and sharing our final work! |
