The children were asked to make three short stop motion videos on lines, angles and triangles with labels to demonstrate their understanding of the vocabulary. Some were asked to include measurement of angles. This is a multi step project where they had to figure out how to make the geometric structures using Knex , record their answer, make labels and then make their movies using the slow motion app iMotion. The criteria was strict, spelling counted, the vocabulary had to match the structures, no hands, fingers or blurring would be excepted. More than 50 shots were required for each slow motion movie. To be successful with this app, it takes a tremendous amount of sustained effort, attention to detail and careful small adjusted movements of the item. For some, this ended up with over 120 shots for just ONE slow motion video. They learned quite a bit and demonstrated many skills, effort and progress. They were proud and are very excited about the publishing of their movies next week during state testing! A much needed fun learning & sharing experience in a stressful week.
