Smart is a poem by Shel Silverstein where a boy makes trades staring with a dollar and ending up with 5 cents. It is a cute poem that teaches the value of coins. Once we practice reading, reciting, acting it out & completing a math worksheet we wrote letters to dad explaining and apologizing for trading away his $1.00 bill. They then used an app called Puppet Pals where they made a puppet show & read their edited letter to dad. It was also a way for me to have the children show their understanding about why dad was red in the face at the end. Enjoy! E.M.M.M.Y.A.D.L. | F.B.H.W.M.M.Q.H. |
