As we near the end of a busy year I wanted us to feel connected and valued for all our work together. We sat in a circle and I passed out a long piece of thread where each child held in a circle. The staff joined us. We then went in a circle and shared one kind thought we had for each other or the group. Once we shared the string was cut and each child tied it around their wrist as a reminder we were a team of learners and friends.
They shared how they had made friends, had fun, were excited for future playdates this summer etc. It was heartwarming.
After our circle activity, we made friendship bracelets. Ms. Christa had brought in a visual and string and taught the children how to make friendship bracelets as our final day with her.
Welcome to my classroom!
I am passionate, a little bit quirky ( some may say a little bit more) and dedicated to serving children with Autism. These young people have touched me deeply and have made me a better teacher & hopefully person. I want to share what I have learned that allows these beautiful children to grow & sometimes thrive in my class.
