Space Invader and Body Snatcher work together but have different powers. Space Invader makes people invade your personal space while Body Snatcher takes your body away from a person, group, activity etc. We tend to teach them together as they make a confusing but powerful duo! We began with some simple exercises with personal space ending with our personal space circles listing who could be close and who shouldn't be inner personal space. Good Space VS TOO Close! Next, we moved onto Body Snatcher and talked about times we need to leave a situation /group and times we need to stay. We demonstrated how it felt to have someone walk away when we were talking, playing a game etc. How we needed to face each other, listen, keep our bodies in a group etc. Finally, we played several games in partner teams to work on these ideas and have some fun! Giggles & high interest made the learning and practice fun. | The Zoomer game is great for teaching cooperation and space . In order for the zoomer to move the children must stand equal distance apart, face each other and cooperatively move their arms open and closed to propel the zoomer back and forth. The Twister hip hop game requires children stand nearby but not too close , face the partner and carefully watch and listen to the directions and colors as they work in partner teams taking turns to get a high score. |

Watch this teacher made movie to learn about Topic Twister's best friend! Our two pesky unthinkables 'accidentally' slip up and tell us how to defeat them too! The children will be starting the next unit learning about perspective taking and making people files ( Another secret strategy to defeat Topic Twister and his side kick.) Did you notice how some of our mindful skills that we have been practicing in class are also being used as strategies to help us understand others and defeat the unthinkables are in the video as well? The children have already guessed T.T.'s best friend .. this video will let them know if they guess correctly !
