Which do you think will dissolve fastest? At 18 minutes we knew which one was going to be first. But we were surprised at which one was last!
This simple experiment where we had a constant variable ( red Skittle ) and a variable that changed ( liquid) began with carefully using our observation skills to look, smell, listen, touch and (yes their favorite part!) eat a skittle. We shared our observations and put them on our recording sheet.
We then took the temperature of the liquids and discussed each properties. We had hot water, cold water and soda water. We made predictions and placed 1 red skittle in each and turned on the timer.
