We began this lesson listing animals that had better eye sight than people. The children listed many from the cat family and birds of prey. We talked about how animals can focus on one thing with their eyes and stay still or move very slowly ( a cat at a mouse hole ). I asked them to look carefully around the room using their animal eyes and see if they notice something they haven't seen before. Many were eabe to share something new . I then asked each child to return to their seat and gave each child a tulip. I asked that they use their animal eyes and for 2 minutes look at the flower carefully using their quiet animal eyes. I sounded the bell to signal the start and ending. | The children shared what they notice, how they felt and what other times would be good to use our quiet animal eyes. |
