We have a daily feedback system of colored beads the children have been collecting. Children earn beads for specific behaviors such as raising their hands , listening, participating, finishing work, being kind to others, a personal bead etc.
They record their individual Class Dojo points into their weekly folder and get the corresponding colored beads.
This week we started stringing them to take home! Beads and young children.. they were often successful stringing them but .. well...
There were numerous positive peer beads also awarded as children helped each other pick up spilled beads. ;-)
Vanco led the class step by step to the final production of a city scape during the day. They were attend to where they were placing their 'sun' and she accordingly. But before any of the messy charcoal was passed out each child had to draw the roof tops and then use a ruler to draw the straight lines of each building being mindful of not crossing a roof.
The children were very engaged and messy. It was a delight to observe this lesson and the children work in a medium that was messy and unforgiving. They did an excellent job! Enjoy their cities!
