As we prepare for Rock Brain (our next Unthinkable) we need to teach a set of complex ideas. You see Rock Brain is a very rigid thinker and wants things done a very specific way. He doesn't like things to be unexpected and likes to control everything and everyone! So what is flexible & rigid thinking? Before we can move there we need to learn the difference in more concrete terms. We start this by carefully examining a rock and a piece of putty. They are asked to examine the properties of each and as a group list what they notice on a simple worksheet. With guided questions we help them notice key properties. Can you stretch it? Can it change shape? etc. | |
