Rock Brain is a tricky Unthinkable to teach and takes some time , activities & practice. As the children's self awareness & regulation increases their learning and understanding deepens for this and many Unthinkables. But basically Rock Brain is a character who makes kids get stuck on just one thing and prevents them from changing their minds and being a flexible thinker and problem solver. (more about Unthinkables here) The first thing we do is introduce the concept of flexible and unflexible. For this activity, we gave each child a rock and a piece of putty and asked questions after they observed and played with each item. Some questions we asked-
We then shared our adjectives and observations. This will be our foundation and vocabulary for the remaining lessons. | |

Thanks for stopping by. There are numerous lessons on Flexible thinking and Rock Brain. The side categories are tagged and you can search by clicking on the specific category you are interested in. In addition you can search for terms in the search bar at the top. Because I looped and taught the same child for 2-3 years there are variations on the same concepts to explore.
