Day 2 was an emotional day. Excitement and anticipation was evident as I walked the boys back to class first thing in the morning. Curiosity, surprise and laughter was evident as they entered the room and the OT snapped pictures.
After reading the notes and settling down Ms. Christa had us do a bit of yoga to prepare us for the next phase. Explaining how our traps worked and taking them apart.
Finally, we met at the rug to talk about taking apart our traps and how we felt. Many were sad. So, we talked about how much care and effort we put into building them and how we can mindfully and slowly take it apart 1 piece at a time. I talked about how life was full of changes and it was important to learn to let things go. To remember how much fun we had, the memories we made and what we learned. The children quietly took apart their traps. It was sweet to watch and support.
Explaining how the trap was supposed to work.
Many already have ideas for making a stronger and better trap next year!
