This week we began our breathing games to bring awareness to different types of breathing, what we can do with our breath and how our bodies felt. These games also worked on maintaining attention, self regulation and fun! The first game was blow a cotton ball into a cup beneath our desk. This took some control, attention and effort. Next, the cup was moved to the top edge of the desk where the children had to control their breath and not knock the cup down while getting their cotton ball in. The cup was then removed from the game and the children had to carefully blow their cotton ball to the edge of their desks. The closest one being deemed the most careful and winner. Finally, the children were asked to inhale and pick up the cotton ball and place it back into their cup. They were very proud of there effort and were able to notice & share how they felt during these games. | |
